You are at one of the most unusual and recognizable natural attractions in the Jizera Mountains. This is the Wobbling Rock – a massive granite boulder that can be rocked with the power of your own muscles.

Because of its shape, it was once called the "Sugar Bowl." The rock reaches a height of four meters and is composed of several granite blocks. Its top resembles an inverted cone, resting on two support points, allowing it to move.

In fog or at dusk, this extraordinary boulder is surrounded by an aura of mystery. In the Middle Ages, prospectors for minerals and precious stones believed that countless treasures were hidden beneath the Wobbling Rock. Others claimed that an underground passage led from here to the Evening Castle, located high in the Jizera Mountains. The treasury can only be accessed on Midsummer's Eve, and fern seeds hidden in pockets are said to make finding the treasures hidden within easier. Other legends claim that Chybotek is the work of the devil himself, who made his lair here. It was here that treasure hunters—as the old saying goes, "A candle for God, a stump for the devil"—organized secret rituals to gain the favor of the evil forces jealously guarding access to the treasures hidden in the Karkonosze and Jizera Mountains.

According to legend, the airing cauldrons located at the summit of Chybotek were filled with rancid animal fat, and a hangman's rope was immersed in it, which, according to beliefs, brought good luck and wealth. This rope acted as a wick. When lit, the stench of melted fat wafted through the area. Its unpleasant odor was said to attract all the evil forces guarding the treasures in the mountains, thus opening the way to them.
