Between Wysoki Kamień and Czerwona Jama rises the summit of Sowiniec, forested with dense spruce forest. Bristling with stone watchtowers known as Owl Rocks, it watches over the Kamienna River valley.

The rocks, as if conjured by the hand of the Karkonosze's Rubenczal, stand amidst ancient spruces and beeches. Shrouded in autumn mists, they convey a sense of wilderness and a world enchanted with secrets and extraordinary tales.

The tallest of the rocks, towering over the others, conceals a secret within its gnarled crevices. It is said that treasure hunters once came to this place to unearth precious treasures – smoky quartz and pegmatite.

To this day, only traces remain: a small cave hidden in the shadow of the eastern slope and stories of a little gray man who can sometimes be found among the rocks. Even if our modern worldview has distorted our ability to perceive the invisible, it's still possible to encounter ancient creatures living in the forests.

A resident of Szklarska Poręba saw a little gray man there, who prompted her to find treasure. Immediately afterward, he disappeared among the rocks, and the frightened woman fled, never to return.

Another legend about the little gray man from Sowiniec tells how he appeared to a man and asked him to join him and follow him among the rocks. The man agreed, and the little man gave him gold.

Today, the Owl Rocks still attract hikers. The paths leading to the rocks are numerous, winding through the forest thickets, enveloped in the scent of resin and the chirping of birds. Every step carries a note of the inexplicable mystery of this place. As the old inhabitants of Szklarska Poręba say: When the wind dances between the branches and the sun touches the tops of the rocks, you can still meet the little gray man guarding the secrets of Sowiniec.
