A unique river crossing with a long history connects friendly towns and countries
At the 13th kilometer of the mountain section of the Jizera - the river that gave its name to the Jizera Mountains - the banks are connected by a bridge. It connects Poland and the Czech Republic, the inhabitants of Szklarska Poręba and Kořenov, and tourists wandering from Orle to Jizerka. It has become a symbol of common efforts to remove barriers and political divisions between both countries.
Although it is a small bridge high in the middle of the mountains, it has great symbolic meaning. For many years, it has been a meeting place for local government officials from Poland and the Czech Republic, regional activists, and tourists who love the Jizera Mountains and the Karkonosze Mountains.
