Sztolnie dawnej kopalni pirytu

For years, Szklarska Poręba has been a place of searching for valuable minerals. One of the greatest mining relics in this region are the adits of the former pyrite mine.
Pyrite resembles gold, hence it was called "fool's gold". The ore from the vicinity of Szklarska Poręba was processed into sulfuric acid at a local production plant. This plant was called the vitriol, and its name was related to the doctrine of ancient alchemists.

Currently, the adits are a tourist attraction located on the Walloon Trail. Only part of the historic corridors are available to visitors, but once they get there, they still make quite an impression.

How to get there?
From Death Turn, go down the black and yellow hiking trails (they run together on this section). After about fifteen minutes, you will reach a place where you need to leave the trail and turn right. A narrow path will lead us to the former mine.
