Death bend

On the Sudecka Road, between Szklarska Poręba and Świeradów Zdrój, at an altitude of 775 m above sea level. there is a very sharp and dangerous bend (the road curves almost 180').
A wonderful viewpoint of the panorama of the Karkonosze Mountains, the city and the Jelenia Góra Valley. In 2020, a viewing platform was built here, which additionally highlights the beauty of the bend itself and the amazing panorama of the mountains stretching from it.

Death Corner owes its name to numerous car accidents caused by drivers not taking due care.

Below Death Turn, on the trail to Zbójeckie Skały, there is an adit of an old pyrite mine from the 17th century.

Access: ul. Granitowa, Dworcowa, Armii Krajowa towards Świeradów Zdrój. The black trail (circular around Szklarska Poręba) and the yellow trail from Szklarska Poręba Dolna through Zbójeckie Skały to Wysoki Kamień lead through Zakręt Śmierci.
